Here at Paper Mountain we are proud to work to our 0% landfill policy.

Our shredding depots produce tonnes of shredded and pulped paper ready for recycling each year, so what does that really mean to our environment?

RECYCLING IN HARMONY WITH THE ENVIRONMENT

Producing recycled paper involves between 27 - 69% less energy consumption than new paper and uses less water. For every tonne of paper we recycle from our shredding depots 17 trees are spared, 7,000 gallons of water are saved and 4,200 KWh less electricity is used. These statistics alone prove that recycling the shredded and pulped paper is vital if we are to preserve the Earth's natural resources.

Many of our competitors choose to landfill the by-product of shredding, this is not only landfill consuming but offers to input into paper recycling whatsoever. So why do they do this? - the sad fact is "to save themselves money", this could not be further from the truth for us.
