The government enforced WEEE Directive (Waste Electronic & Electrical equipment) restricts how industry dispose of their electrical waste.

It is no longer accepted via usual refuge or landfill disposal under this new legislation. This has been empowered to restrict potentially harmful materials arriving at landfill sites. Furthermore this legislation comes with very powerful penalties for any company or corporation failing to adhere to it.

These penalties can include corporate fines, removal of trading licences and even imprisonment.
